Sep. 23, 2025 BrownfieldAgNews reports: The U.S. corn and soybean harvests are in line with most recent years. That followed a generally favorable week of weather for activity in much of the Midwest and Plains, and while condition ratings for crops generally declined, that's normal during the harvest. The USDA says 11% of U.S. corn is harvested, matching the five-year average, with 91% dented, 56% mature, and 66% of the crop rated good to excellent, down 1% on the week. 9% of soybeans are harvested, also even with the average pace, while 81% of the crop is dropping leaves and 61% of the crop is called good to excellent, 2% lower. 20% of winter wheat is planted, compared to 23% normally this time of year, and 4% has emerged. 96% of spring wheat is harvested, equal to the typical rate. 12% of cotton is harvested and 60% of bolls are opening, both close to usual, and 47% of the crop is in good to excellent condition, a drop of 5%. 71% of rice is harvested, considerably faster than average. 25% of sorghum is harvested, with 89% coloring, 52% mature, and 64% of in good to excellent shape, a decline of 1%. 34% of U.S. pastures and rangelands are reported as good to excellent, 1% less than last week.
