Source: Council for Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST) news release

Ames, Iowa -- The Council for Agricultural Science and Technology (CAST) will release its newest publication, Precision Irrigation Management, during a live webinar on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM Eastern / 12:00 PM Central.

This paper explores how advanced irrigation technologies--such as variable-rate irrigation systems, soil and plant sensors, and evapotranspiration (ET)-based decision tools--are helping producers make every drop of water count. By integrating data, automation, and real-time monitoring, precision irrigation enables farmers to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen resilience to climate change.

Presenters:

· Dr. Suat Irmak, The Pennsylvania State University

· Dr. Jonathan Aguilar, Kansas State University

· Dr. Dana Porter, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Service

The publication will be available for download immediately following the webinar at www.cast-science.org.

Webinar Details:

· Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025

· Time: 1:00-2:00 PM ET (12:00-1:00 PM CT)

· Registration: Register here.

· Cost: Free and open to the public
