Dr. McIntyre is a respected leader in poultry science, previously serving as PSA President from 2019 to 2020. He is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Prestage Poultry Science Department at NC State University and consults part-time in the poultry industry, focusing on applied research in bird health, nutrition, and welfare. His career spans R&D and leadership roles at Cargill, Diamond V, Hybrid Turkeys, Oscar Mayer, and others. He has served as president of British United Turkeys of America and Colorado Quality Research, and held technical service roles for Hendrix Genetics, Adisseo, and Global Animal Products. Dr. McIntyre holds B.S. degrees in Poultry Science and Animal Science from NC State, an M.S. from Colorado State University, and a Ph.D. in Physiology from NC State. He is a PAACO-certified Poultry Welfare Auditor and Trainer and maintains ARPAS certification as a Professional Animal Scientist.
