Aug. 31, 2026 Source: Farm Progress Boone, IA -- The Farm Progress Show is right around the corner, and Matt Jungmann is ready to tell you all about it. He recently joined Farm Progress policy editor Josh Baethge and Prairie Farmer executive editor Holly Spangler on the very first edition of the new Farm Progress Nation podcast, "Truth on the Ground." This year marks the 73rd year of the Farm Progress Show. It returns to Boone, Iowa, once again from Sept. 1-3. Jungmann, the longtime national events director for Farm Progress, has been affiliated with show in some capacity for 31 years, which has given him plenty of opportunity for stories that involve everything from presidents to proposals. He shared a few of his favorite memories with Baethge and Spangler, including the time he stumbled upon the woman who would become his future wife. While he recalls that first interaction as "not terribly romantic or glamorous," the two would be engaged less than a year later. Clearly, FPS can make for a meet-cute. Jungmann can't guarantee everyone will come home from Boone with a spouse, but he said this year's show promises to be another memorable experience for first-timers and regular show attendees alike. "The mission is to make sure that the show is new and fresh every time," Jungmann said. "If you were at the '24 show, there's plenty of good reasons to come to the 2026 show because we've added new things." Among those new attractions is an Agronomy Zone where visitors can see a side-by-side comparison of how various agronomic products perform in real growing conditions, professionally managed in research-grade plots. Also coming to Boone for the first time is an FAA-approved Drone Zone where attendees can view aerial-application and seeding demonstrations. As always, Farm Progress Show will boast 90 acres of exhibit spaces flanked by 300 acres dedicated to equipment demonstrations. "Truth on the Ground" is a new Farm Progress Nation podcast hosted by Josh Baethge and Holly Spangler. They'll share perspective on the biggest stories in agriculture, with help from the experts and journalists who know what it means to be a farmer.
