SOYBEAN RUST FOUND IN NORTHERN INDIANA Oct. 30, 2006

Tennessee confirmed finds(10-25) in six additional counties - Chester, Hardin, Henderson, Lincoln, Perry, and Wayne; while Alabama had finds in two counties on kudzu - Bullock and Pike.
Mississippi reported a soybean rust find in Washington County, western part of the state; and Indiana in Tippecanoe County, west-central IN; and Virginia in four new counties - Gloucester, Middlesex, New Kent, and Surry.
Currently rust has been found infecting this year's soybeans in 200 different counties in 15 states: AL, AR, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MO, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, and VA. Including reports on kudzu, there is a total of 224 counties in 15 states with rust this year including 16 in Alabama; 18 in Florida; 21 in South Carolina; 24 in Louisiana; 15 in Georgia; 4 in Texas and Missouri; 6 in Mississippi; 29 in North Carolina; 16 in Kentucky, 8 in Illinois; 5 in Indiana; 18 in Tennessee; 26 in Arkansas; and 13 in Virginia.
Unlike the 2005 season, more soybean rust finds are occurring up the Mississippi River Valley from apparent outbreaks in Louisiana.
