Jun. 25, 2007 Source: AgriStar Global Networks sent via AgPR--the news distribution service for agriculture Dr. Ray Hoyum has been named Vice President of Information Services for AgriStar Global Networks, Ltd., a national provider of broadband satellite Internet access and proprietary agricultural business information services. Dr. Hoyum will oversee a broad range of premium educational and management programs for Agristar's agricultural customers throughout the U.S. He also will direct similar programs in other major agricultural countries when Agristar expands beyond the U.S. in early 2008. Dr. Hoyum was selected in 2004 as NAMA Marketer of the Year, the highest industry award given by the National Agri-Marketing Association, for his leadership in IMC Global's "Back to Basics" educational initiative. The program, developed for growers and retailers across the country, explained the vital link between proper soil fertility and profitability utilizing a variety of market communications channels. Most recently Dr. Hoyum was Vice President, International Market Development for The Mosaic Company, the fertilizer unit of Cargill which merged with IMC Global in 2005. "Ray's lifelong commitment to U.S. and global agriculture is widely recognized," said Cliff Ganschow, Chairman of Agristar Global Networks, "and he is joining us at a key period in our expansion in all sectors of the ag industry." In addition to serving on numerous national and international boards and committees, Dr. Hoyum has authored over 250 communications, marketing, and educational publications. He received his BS degree from the University of Wisconsin and his MS and PhD degrees from Auburn University.
