Jul. 11, 2007 Source: Agriculture Future of America (AFA) AFA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Kansas City, Missouri. AFA provides college men and women and young professionals career and leader development training experiences. AFA partners with colleges and universities, businesses, associations, government agencies and individuals to provide "value added" personal and professional development to its members. AFA is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the AFA staff and assist AFA achieve its vision: "To be a catalyst in the preparation of a new generation of Agriculture leaders". Program Manager This position is responsible for design, planning and implementation of collegiate and young professional programs and related services. The Program Manager will possess strong skills in leadership training and career development; will be an experienced team builder and exhibit strong communication skills; have a success record of working with youth development or related experiences; demonstrate an intense desire to be a part of an organization committed to leader development in agriculture. Requirements: ·Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) ·Minimum 5 years professional experience in youth development, human resource, communication, marketing or similar career. ·Training and work in leader development desirable ·Understanding of nonprofit businesses and experience related to resource development and operations desired ·Knowledge and experience in systems that support web services and training Reports to: President/CEO Position Description: Collegiate Program Management: Manage partner relations that identify and support participation in AFA leader/career development model. 1. Community Partnerships for scholars 2. University and college relationships 3. Corporate and association partners Manage training program for college men and women that provide leader and career training. 1. Annual Leaders Conference 2. Student Ambassador program 3. Campus Champion partners 4. Intern and mentoring program implementation Develop and manage a Certification process for college men and women and young professionals. 1. Lead the development of Certification criteria and process 2. Coordinate with the CEO and Board Program Committee in this process 3. Manage implementation of certification through a virtual network Young Professional Program: Manage the systems and resources needed to grow and support a network of young professionals in agriculture and rural America. 1. Coordinate with the CEO to support the Alliance leadership committee 2. Support member recruitment, programming and commoditization through the development of a virtual community 3. Coordinate with resources development staff and committee to identify sponsorship for the Alliance 4. Identify mentoring opportunities within AFA for Alliance members Organizational Awareness: Manage the communication planning and marketing activities for the organization. 1. Coordinate with staff and service providers the development of newsletter, annual report, etc. to assure AFA brand management 2. Coordinate the operation of AFA website and related services Organizational Support: Additional duties as required to successfully achieve the goals of the organization including the following: 1. Participate in organization planning 2. Support the board program committee 3. Assist in resource development Essential skills: ·Strong leadership, interpersonal, listening, written and verbal skills ·Computer literate experience in data management, records, system extremely important ·Record of achievement with project management including ability to organize complex projects, meeting events, training programs ·Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, accurate, detail oriented, problem-solving ·Ability to work with volunteer groups and develop partnerships to achieve goals ·Management experience desirable Other information: Applications should be sent to the attention of Russell Weathers, President.
