AG RELATIONS COUNCIL RESURRECTS THE GOLDEN ARC AWARDS
Source: Agricultural Relations Council news release

ARC members can see how their work stacks up against the best in the business when they participate in the prestigious 2010 Golden ARC Awards Program. Entries are being accepted now for the 38 categories in two divisions, the "Campaigns Division" and the "Tactics Division."

The Contest, announced at the ARC annual meeting in Memphis in February, will recognize the best and brightest in the agricultural public relations industry. Entries will be accepted until 5 p.m. on May 1, 2010, and winners will be announced at the Ag Media Summit on July 27, in St. Paul, MN.

The Golden ARC Awards Program began in 1990 and came to be recognized as the most esteemed award in the agricultural public relations industry. This year's restructured Contest reflects the many hats worn by today's PR practitioners -- with categories recognizing everything from traditional campaigns and media relations to innovative new uses of social media.

The 2010 Golden ARC Awards will be managed by Amy Keith McDonald, long-time ARC member and past president. McDonald said she is looking forward to the challenge.

"When I began working in agricultural public relations, I quickly came to recognize that the Golden ARC Awards were considered the pinnacle of success for an ag public relations professional," McDonald said. "I am looking forward to seeing the many entries cross my desk, and fully realizing the scope of terrific work we do in and on behalf of our industry."

McDonald urges ARC members to enter this year's Contest.

"The success of the entire Golden ARC Awards program rests primarily with our industry professionals," she said. "We know this program has been highly respected in the past, and serves a niche in the industry not supplied elsewhere."

ARC has made it easier to submit entries this year, by allowing entrants to submit "Tactics Division" entries by e-mail.
