MAHINDRA NAMES NEW DIRECTOR NEW BUSINESS/DEALER DEVELOPMENT Aug. 27, 2010
Source: Mahindra USA news release
Mahindra USA has added a new executive to its ranks. Mac Payne has joined the Mahindra team in the newly created role of director of new business and dealer development. In his new position, Payne will report directly to vice-president of marketing and organizational development Mike Hilderbrand.
Payne's new responsibilities are three-fold. With the product development sector of Mahindra reporting directly to him, Payne is charged with identifying segments of the market where the company is under-represented and aggressively developing plans and products to address the needs of current and potential Mahindra customers. He will work between Mahindra USA and the more than 350 Mahindra dealers nationwide, providing individual dealers with sales tools that are tailored to their region and customer. He will also ensure that individual dealers consistently share best practices throughout the national network, and will be implementing a new dealer rewards program later this year.
"I am so excited for this opportunity at Mahindra. I have long admired the way the company does business," said Payne, who is a past member of the Mahindra USA dealer council. "Other tractor manufacturers talk about cultivating relationships with dealers, but Mahindra truly looks at dealers as partners. The potential for growth here is unlimited."
Payne has extensive experience in the agricultural equipment industry, having spent the past five years as general manager of Landmark Equipment in McKinney, Texas. Prior to that, he was president and general manager of Garden City (Kansas) New Holland from 1988-2004. Payne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural mechanization from the University of Wyoming and will be based in Mahindra USA's headquarters in Houston.
