TENKOZ' PRESIDENT JUVENAL TO RETIRE, WISSMILLER PROMOTED

Tenkoz, Inc., a strategic sourcing company and the largest distribution entity for crop protection products in the United States, has announced that John Juvenal, president of the organization since 2000, will retire effective Dec. 31, 2010. Tenkoz chairman, and member of its Executive Committee, Dale Engan noted, "Few people have served the crop protection industry for as many years as John Juvenal, and his contributions have been extremely important to our industry."
Juvenal graduated in 1955 from the University of Texas, Austin, with a degree in Botany and began his career with Stauffer Chemical Company in Lubbock, Texas, in 1956. After several relocations he was named director of sales for Stauffer, based in Westport, Conn. In 1987, Stauffer Chemical was acquired by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI). Juvenal was named by ICI to the director of sales position in Wilmington, Del., where he spent the next two years. Juvenal retired from ICI in 1989 and moved with his wife, Leanne, to Tampa, Fla., where they continue to reside.
In 1992, after four years of retirement, Juvenal accepted a position with Tenkoz and in 2000 became president of the organization. Upon his departure from Tenkoz, he will have served the group for 18 years and the overall crop protection industry for a total of 50 years.
Succeeding Juvenal as president will be Jim Wissmiller. Wissmiller, like Juvenal, is also a veteran of the crop protection industry, and he began his career in 1970 with Stauffer Chemical Company in field sales. He quickly received several promotions and key international assignments. After Stauffer Chemical was acquired by ICI in 1987, Wissmiller served ICI in a variety of marketing roles and was promoted to vice president, where he was responsible for marketing in North America. Following the merger of ICI and Novartis Crop Protection to become Syngenta Corporation, Wissmiller took early retirement.
Wissmiller joined Tenkoz in 2001 and has served since then as a vice president of the organization. Jim is also immediate past chairman of Chemical Producers/Distributors Association (CPDA).
Founded in 1983, Tenkoz is comprised of 14 regional independent distribution companies with combined purchases representing 25% of the US crop protection market. Tenkoz shareholders include; Britz/Simplot, Cardinal Chemical Inc., Coastal Agrobusiness Inc., Diamond R. Fertilizers, The Dune Company, Jimmy Sanders Inc., Kova Fertilizer Inc., Meherrin Agriculture & Chemical Company Inc., Triangle Chemical Company, Rosen's Inc., J.R. Simplot Company, Van Diest Supply Company, West Central Inc., and Wilbur-Ellis Company.
