TRACTOR SALES IN OCTOBER UP 20%, COMBINES 24%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly "Flash Report," the sales of all tractors in the U.S. for October 2010 were up 20.3% compared to the same month last year.
For the year 2010, a total of 141,717 tractors were sold, which compares to 136,072 sold through October 2009.
For the month, two-wheel-drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 1.8%, and 40 & under 100 HP were up 20.1%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were up 53.9% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were up 82.8% for the month.
For the year 2010, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (Under 40 HP) were up 4% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 3.5%. Sales of two-wheel drive 100+ HP were up 16.9%, while four-wheel-drive tractors were up 26.9% for the year.
Combine sales were up 24.2% for the month. Sales of combines for the year 2010 totaled 8,816, up 5.7% from the same period in 2009.
