![]() Dec. 7, 2010 Source: Syngenta news release Syngenta Corporate Affairs in North America announced the appointments of three employees, including the creation of a new position, all of which will stimulate the communication efforts of the organization. Sherry Duvall Ford moves into the newly created role of head of community engagement. In this position, Ford will be responsible for building the Syngenta reputation through community and corporate partnerships, developing business-driven community engagement strategies, and overseeing corporate sponsorships and donations. With more than 11 years at Syngenta, most recently as head of external communications for Syngenta Crop Protection, Ford's experience in issues management, media relations and community relations will be instrumental in her new role. Formerly director of internal communications and most recently marketing communications manager of Syngenta subsidiary Fafard, Ann Bryan assumes the role of director of external communications, Syngenta Crop Protection. After more than six years of experience at Syngenta, Bryan will now be responsible for enhancing the reputation of Syngenta as a top innovator and leader in crop protection and agricultural technology. She will also be the point person to manage communications for several key issues, including atrazine. Steven Goldsmith will now serve as director of science communications focused on the external communication of science, research and development and biotechnology for Syngenta. After acting as the Crop Protection media relations manager, Goldsmith will develop Syngenta's reputation for scientific excellence and innovation in the agricultural technology industry.
