Source: Hay & Forage Grower news release

Fae Holin has been named editor of Hay & Forage Grower magazine and hayandforage.com, the premiere Web site for the hay and forage industry, announced Greg Frey, vice president for the Penton Media Agricultural Group.

Holin succeeds Neil Tietz, editor of Hay & Forage Grower since its inception in 1986. Tietz will become senior editor and continue to be a regular contributor to the magazine, its Web site and its electronic newsletter, eHay Weekly.

Raised on a Minnesota crop and farrow-to-finish hog farm, Holin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and English from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She began her career at a weekly Wisconsin newspaper and worked as associate editor on The Farmer/The Dakota Farmer and USAgriculture for 11 years before joining The Corn and Soybean Digest and Hay & Forage Grower in 1994.

She became managing editor of Hay & Forage Grower in 2005.

Tietz has more than 43 years of experience in agricultural journalism, including work on The Farmer/The Dakota Farmer magazine, The Corn and Soybean Digest and Hay & Forage Grower.

Tietz helped launch Hay & Forage Grower, which is celebrating its quarter-century anniversary in this year's issues. He has also served on an advisory committee to the University of Minnesota Department of Animal Science, and received the Minnesota Forage and Grassland Council Outstanding Service Award. He holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Hay & Forage Grower, is the only national publication devoted exclusively to alfalfa and other forage crops. The magazine covers a wide range of forage-related topics, from stand establishment to harvesting and marketing. While the magazine's primary focus is alfalfa, it includes information on all forage crops, whether they're used for hay, silage or rotational grazing.

Hay & Forage Grower is part of Penton Media's extensive family of print and online agricultural brands, including National Hog Farmer, BEEF, Corn & Soybean Digest, Farm Industry News, and Farm Press publications.

As a leading, independent, business-to-business media company, Penton knows business and how to create and disseminate the vital content that moves markets. Penton is where professionals turn to gain the critical insight, expert analysis, and relevant connections needed to compete and succeed. Headquartered in New York City, the privately held company is owned by MidOcean Partners and U.S. Equity Partners II, an investment fund sponsored by Wasserstein & Co., LP, and its co-investors.
