Jun. 24, 2011 Source: Mid America CropLife Association news release "Navigating the New Normal" is the theme of the 2011 MACA Annual Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, through Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Hilton Hotel, Bloomington, Minnesota. This year's program will kick off Tuesday, September 6 at 3:00 p.m. with opening ceremonies followed by "What's the New Normal?" with Dr. Michael Swanson, Chief Ag Economist, Wells Fargo. The "Effective Use of Technology" will be addressed by Dave King, Associate Provost, Oregon State University. Following Tuesday's program will be the grand opening reception. Wednesday, the program will allow for private business meetings, a personal development seminar in the morning starting at 8:30 a.m. with Matt Gulseth from Channel Financial. During the afternoon attendees can participate in the MACA Annual Golf Tournament or a tour of the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis. Private business meetings can be arranged by any MACA member company. To reserve a meeting room, please contact Jennifer Eckhart Locke, Director of Catering, at the Hilton Hotel. Golf, for those attendees that complete their meetings, is available this afternoon at "Legends Club" near Prior Lake. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and the tournament will start at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday ends with the President's reception starting at 6:00 p.m. Thursday morning the program begins at 8:00 a.m. with Tim Emslie, Commodity Research Analyst, Country Hedging subsidiary of CHS Inc. He'll address the topic, "Agricultural Exports Influence on the U.S Economy." "Raising 300 Bushel Corn: Chemicals - The Seventh Wonder of the Corn Yield World" will be the topic of Dr. Fred Below, Professor of Plant Physiology at the University of Illinois, beginning at 9:45 a.m. The meeting includes news and information, an entire day for private business meetings, and networking opportunities.
