USFRA TO HOST ONLINE CONVERSATION WITH CONSUMERS ABOUT BIOTECH
U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) reports:

As a follow-up to the Food Dialogues Town Hall and subsequent conversations happening online at the USFRA Facebook page and www.FoodDialogues.com, one issue continues to be at the forefront of people's minds - biotech's role in food production.

In order to answer the questions about biotech in a deeper way, USFRA is organizing an online conversation with Pam Ronald, Professor, Plant Pathology, University of California, Davis, and co-author of "Tomorrow's Table, Organic Farming, Genetics, and the Future of Food".

Rodger Wasson, an agriculture industry consultant and former CEO of agri-food industry organizations, will interview Pam using the top questions submitted by consumers via USFRA's social media channels. No questions will be taken "live". Pam will address the pre-determined questions directly, relying on her experience in the field and data she's collected from her research.

The video chat will take place on November 2, 9:30 a.m. PT/12:30 p.m. ET and be broadcast from Pam's UC Davis office. The session can be viewed live at www.FoodDialogues.com and will be available via replay on the site, as well as on the USFRA Facebook page.

Some recent examples of Facebook questions regarding biotech include:

• How consumers can know what food has been produced with biotech processes

• What biotech's long-term effect on the environment is

• What the latest, credible research has found
