NAFB ANNOUNCES FARM BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR, HORIZON AWARD WINNERS

Recognizing his dedication and commitment to the agriculture industry and his professionalism in farm broadcasting, the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) has named Greg Akagi, farm editor at the Kansas Ag Network and WIBW radio, Topeka, KS, the 2011 Farm Broadcaster of the Year.
Julie Root, Farm Broadcaster at RFD Radio Network, Bloomington, IL, received the Horizon Award. The award recognizes broadcasters with less than five years of membership who show promise in the industry.
Both awards are sponsored by Syngenta Corporation and were presented at NAFB's Annual Convention held Nov. 9-11 at the Westin Crown Center, Kansas City, Mo.
