BEEF MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES ITS TRAILBLAZER AWARD WINNER
Source: BEEF magazine news release

Bill Broadie, Ashland, KS, has been named the 20th recipient of BEEF magazine's annual Trailblazer Award.

Co-sponsored by John Deere, the award's honorees are selected by BEEF editorial staff and is designed to honor U.S. beef industry volunteers whose contributions and leadership have benefited the industry and improved the production and profit environment for U.S. beef producers.

Broadie is recognized for his founding and leadership of the All American Beef Battalion (steaksfortroops.org), a non-profit 501-3C organization dedicated to honoring America's men and women in uniform. The program helps supply moral support to deploying and returning troops and their families, while honoring U.S. beef producers and promoting U.S. beef.

A U.S. Marine twice wounded Vietnam, Broadie formed the All-American Beef Battalion (AABB) in August 2007, and the first feed was in Olathe, KS, on April 26, 2008. Since then, the volunteer organization has grilled and served more than 130,000 steaks to deploying and returning U.S. troops and their families in events held across the country.

Why steak? Because Broadie doesn't think there's a better way to say "thank you."
