FARM BUREAU NAMES DIRECTOR/POLICY COMMUNICATIONS

Veteran D.C. communicator Will Rodger has joined the American Farm Bureau Federation as Director, Policy Communications.
Rodger will oversee strategic issue communications, messaging, news and commentary production as well as social media outreach for the 6-million member organization.
Over the years Rodger has devised, led and executed communications programs for a host of high-tech companies such as Microsoft Corp., Safran Group's Morpho and McAfee. Will earlier represented the interests of a wide range of technology companies before Congress, state governments, European Parliament and various federal agencies
At AFBF, Rodger will lead policy communications on a host of vitally important issues, from farm labor and immigration to technology, trade, energy, water and tax reform.
"Will knows Washington both as a policy advocate and journalist," AFBF Executive Vice President and Treasurer Julie Anna Potts said. "Farmers need a voice that can explain not just seed, fertilizer and rainfall, but biotech, big data and geo positioning systems. AFBF is certain to benefit from his deep experience in policy and journalism, alike."
Will earned his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and his MBA in marketing and finance from IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.
