Nov. 19, 2014 Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) reports: During their meeting at the 2014 Annual Conference, the AEM Board of Directors approved six new goals that will guide the Association's actions on behalf of members in 2015. The 2015 AEM goals will continue the implementation of the Strategic Plan approved in 2011 and initiated in 2012. They are based on the objectives of the Strategic Plan's six Key Result Areas (KRAs) and the progress made in 2014 to achieve those objectives. The 2015 AEM goals are: 1) Financial Model KRA - Achieve a "break even" net operating income as approved in the 2015 AEM budget, including $2.15 million in new financial model revenue. Invest up to $1.0 million of the $5.5 million 2014 net operating income to finance the proposed 2050 Infrastructure Vision plan. 2) Advocacy KRA - Achieve the objectives developed by the Government & Public Affairs Committee for the 2015 legislative priorities and the I Make America grassroots advocacy campaign. Successfully launch the first phase of the proposed 2050 Infrastructure Vision. 3) Products KRA - Achieve net revenue, participation, and satisfaction objectives for programs. Strategic priorities are: 1) statistics: RFP completion and Latin America programs; 2) AG brand with AG CONNECT; 3) technical: REACH, Tier V; 4) CONEXPO Latin America; and 5) AG/CE product group services. Explore service opportunities in manufacturing operations, workforce development, and Big Data (standardization, ownership, application) for Board consideration. 4) Membership KRA - Achieve the membership engagement plan objectives, while maintaining member retention and recruitment goals. Implement a plan to improve and streamline communication to members of AEM services and industry information. 5) Partnerships & Collaboration in Services KRA - Achieve partnership objectives for priority activities with a focus on 1) brand partnerships for AG (Commodity Classic, AG CONNECT events) and CE (AEMP), 2) advocacy (state, priority issue coalitions), 3) AEM exhibitions (realignment with ownership partners), and 4) technical services (contributions to standards and regulatory groups). 6) People KRA - Implement and achieve efficiencies from the Strengths/Fit/Abandonment (SFA) recommendations to focus resources on core strengths and delivering benefits to members. Develop and implement a plan to significantly increase engagement and leadership opportunities in AEM for member executives to deliver increased value for their memberships.
