THE PASSING OF AL ZILENZIGER
Willoughby (OH) News-Herald reports:

Albert W. "Al" Zilenziger age 90, (of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Mentor and Painesville) while surrounded by his family at Holly Hill Healthcare Community, Newbury, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

He was born August 16, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pa.

Mr. Zilenziger was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre.

Mr. Zilenziger worked as the Executive Vice President and Director of Advertising for Meister Publishing Co., Willoughby. During his 40-year career in agricultural publishing, he helped develop and establish magazines to serve the domestic and international cotton, textile and chemical markets. In addition to extensive domestic travel, he traveled throughout Europe, the Far East, the Middle East and northern Africa.

His career included memberships in many agricultural trade organizations including the National Plant Food Institute, National Agri-Marketing Association, Southern Agricultural Chemical Association, Midwest Agricultural Chemical Association and National Formulators Association.

Mr. Zilenziger belonged to Mentor United Methodist Church when he was an Ohio resident and Church of the Palms, Delray Beach, as a Florida resident.

He was a 35-year member of Madison Country Club, Madison, where he served as golf chair, house chair and president. He belonged to Quail Ridge Golf and Country Club in Boynton Beach, Fla., where he lived. He was also a member of the Gyro Club of Painesville.

Survivors include his children, Pamela (Glenn F.) Schwaller of Kirtland Hills and Randy Zilenziger of Willoughby; granddaughters, Carolyn and Emily Schwaller.
Preceding Albert in death were his wife, Joan Claire (Staehling) Zilenziger; parents, Albert and Rebecca Zilenziger; and brothers, Rodman J. and David W. Zilenziger.
