May 26, 2015 Source: U.S. Farmers & Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) USFRA is taking on a new and important topic in the upcoming Food Dialogues: Toledo. The event is taking place Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at the Forresters on the River. The focus on the event is the 2014 Toledo water crisis that drew worldwide attention to a crucial question: How do we balance our need for clean water with our need for abundant food? This question will be addressed through two panel discussions moderated by Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist Gail Hogan. T he first panel, Lessons from the Toledo Water Crisis, will focus on how the event reshaped how the world thinks about agriculture and the environment. Panelists will share perspectives from the farm and environmental communities, city government and local business interests. The second panel, Balancing the Food and Water Equation, will discuss how to manage water quality and food production in a way that meets society's need.
