Jun. 29, 2015 Source: joint organization news release Today, Agri Marketing magazine and McCormick Company, one of the leading marketing-communications agencies serving agricultural companies and those servicing rural consumers, announced the launch of the new editorial feature: Agricultural Tweet of the Week. Each week, the top tweet with an agricultural theme will be identified and reported in the Agri Marketing Weekly e-newsletter. The selection of the Agricultural Tweet of the Week will be based on engagement criteria, such as the number of times a tweet has been retweeted and/or favorited. "I anticipate some tweets will be humorous, while others will be educational, include factoids or represent some sort of agvocacy," says Lynn Henderson, Publisher and Editorial Director of Agri Marketing magazine. "For example, last week's Agricultural Tweet of the Week would have been the one posted by the Iowa organization, Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area: A bushel of corn can make 38 boxes of corn flakes or produce more than 2.5 gallons of ethanol." The qualifying agricultural tweet from the prior week was posted by the United Soybean Board: Over half of the graduates in agriculture are female - which is much higher than other STEM disciplines. The monitoring and analytics system used to identify tweets related to agriculture, and then capture the related metrics for this editorial feature, is one regularly used by McCormick Company. "Gathering metrics and converting the data into insights that have practical application is truly the foundation of successful marketing communications today," says Mark Perrin, president of McCormick Company. "While finding those insights is serious business, we also enjoy the chance to have fun with the data, which is why we are thrilled to sponsor the Agricultural Tweet of the Week." To find the latest Agricultural Tweet of the Week, visit www.AgriMarketing.com each Monday. The website also enables people involved with agriculture to sign up to receive a free subscription to Agri Marketing Weekly.
