HARVEST PR AWARDS $20,000 NONPROFIT PR GRANT TO AGCHAT FOUNDATION
Source: Harvest PR news release

After a nationwide call for entries, Harvest PR & Marketing, Inc. has awarded its second annual Seed to Succeed nonprofit PR grant, valued at $20,000, to the AgChat Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering farmers and ranchers to connect and tell their story through social media platforms.

Harvest PR's grant will help the start-up nonprofit spread its "agvocacy" message and share news of its core program areas, including Agvocacy Training and Technology Scholarships.

"The AgChat mission really resonated with our team, as it clearly has with thousands of grassroots supporters across North America that make up the backbone of this farmer-led organization," said Heidi Nelson, founder and principal of the boutique public relations and marketing firm. "We're honored to lend our public relations support to the AgChat Foundation through our second annual grant offering."

Harvest PR created the Seed to Succeed PR Grant in 2009 to annually support one worthy not-for-profit cause or organization that serves to better agriculture. Fans of the Seed to Succeed Facebook page may follow the pro bono initiative as it progresses.

Jeff Fowle, AgChat Foundation president, said the organization is excited about the additional resources. "The Seed to Succeed grant from Harvest PR will be very beneficial as we deliver our message to farmers, ranchers and the general public. Adding Harvest PR to our team of volunteers will help us as we explain the concept behind the foundation: good communications is critical to our success.

"Harvest PR support will add strength and stability to our Foundation," Fowle adds, "as we continue to develop the four cornerstones: Training, Scholarship, Campaigning and Analysis."

About AgChat Foundation, Inc.

A group of farmers created the AgChat Foundation after connecting through the now highly visible "#AgChat" community on Twitter, a weekly moderated chat where agriculturists discuss various issues, tell their farm stories and identify ways to connect with people outside of agriculture. The Foundation strives to educate and equip "agvocates" with the skill set needed to engage on Twitter, Facebook, blogs, YouTube, LinkedIn and other social media services, giving them the knowledge to unlock new tools to effectively tell their story.
