THE SEVEN ISSUES U.S. WANTS CHINA TO RESOLVE FOR TRADE AGREEMENT Aug. 5, 2019 POLITICO reports: White House trade adviser Peter Navarro, in an interview on Fox News Sunday, said China must end its "seven deadly sins" to avoid the new tariffs: *Stop stealing our intellectual property. *Stop forcing technology transfers. *Stop hacking our computers to steal our trade secrets. *Stop dumping into our markets and putting our companies out of business. *Stop their state-owned enterprises from [receiving] heavy subsidies. *Stop the fentanyl. *Stop the currency manipulation." What's next? The administration on Sept. 1 will impose tariffs of 10 percent against roughly $300 billion in Chinese imports. A Chinese delegation is set to visit Washington next month for more face-to-face negotiations. Tweet |
