![]() Dec. 6, 2021 Pork Checkoff reports: African swine fever (ASF) continues to spread beyond containment areas in Germany. Last week, the country confirmed a case in a wild boar in the Poland-bordering state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This brings the total number of wild boar cases to 2,800 and the first case in this state. This news comes days after a confirmation of ASF in a finishing pig site, where more than 4,000 pigs had to be euthanized. As ASF continues to spread across the globe, U.S. pork producers are reminded they can prepare for a potential foreign animal disease (FAD) outbreak, such as ASF, by creating an AgView account. To view AgView click here. AgView is a free opt-in technology solution that provides animal health and movement data to state animal health officials when prompted by producers during an FAD outbreak. Tweet |
