Professional Roughstock Inc. and Rural Media Group announced today a multi-year TV contract that will combine the country`s fastest growing rodeo sports series with the nation`s most important rural network, RFD-TV. The agreement will bring weekly Professional Roughstock Series (PRS) programming to more than 43-million U.S. households beginning Friday, May 3rd.

"We couldn`t be happier with the arrangement," said Spud Whitman, PRS President. "This is a great step forward for our series which is growing faster than ever right now."

The Professional Roughstock Series features the country`s top bareback, saddle bronc and bull riders who compete in live events across the country. Highlights of those events will be brought to RFD-TV in the form of 30-minute programs that will debut at 10pm Eastern Time on May 3rd. Each original episode will then be re-broadcast the following Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm Eastern.

"The addition of PRS to RFD-TV is the next step forward for us in our drive to bring more western sports and quality event programming to our viewers and fans," said Randy Bernard, CEO of Rural Media Group. "We look forward to further enhancing the popularity of the sport and to bringing PRS into more and more households through our strong cable and satellite distribution."

The first episode, set to air on May 3rd, will be an introductory show. "Our goal is not only to entertain but to build a fan base for our series," Whitman said. "A big part of that is to help the broader RFD-TV audience understand what it takes to succeed in each of our disciplines; bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding."

Whitman says it`s important to Pro Roughstock to build relationships between the viewers and the riders. He says they plan to do that by introducing the audience to the competitors with periodic feature stories. "And we want to add to that the backstories of the horses and bulls that are the other side of the equation in the PRS. We`d like to build the reputations of our stock contractors and the animal athletes they bring, as well."

The broadcast team includes Whitman a 5-time PBR World Finalist, Monty "Hawkeye" Henson, a 5-time World Saddle Bronc Champion, Kelly Timberman, World Bareback Champion and multi-year NFR qualifier, and handling the play-by-play duties will be well-known veteran announcer Justin McKee. The PRS plans to produce 32 episodes this season, comprising 16 hours of original programming.
