Meredith Corporation (NYSE:MDP) announced today that it has promoted Scott Mortimer to Vice President of Meredith Corporation & Group Publisher at Meredith Agrimedia, effective immediately.

In this role, Mortimer will continue his responsibilities leading Meredith Agrimedia's overall strategic direction and corporate financial contributions which include the Successful Farming and Living the Country Life brands and related properties. He will continue reporting to Doug Olson, EVP/Director of Operations and Business Development, Meredith Corporation.

"Meredith Agrimedia and Successful Farming have flourished under Scott's leadership," Olson said of Mortimer's contributions at Meredith over the past 22 years. "He has overseen a significant transformation inside the organization, and is responsible for leading the team at Meredith Agrimedia which is on pace to record its fourth-consecutive year of strong performance."

A proponent and supporter of community involvement inside his team at Meredith Agrimedia, Mortimer has personally embraced several initiatives including co-chairing two Meredith United Way campaigns as well as serving on the Iowa 4-H Foundation board of directors including the role as President.

Of his promotion, Mortimer said, "In addition to continuing to deliver best in class products to farmers, I am thrilled about opportunities for Meredith Agrimedia to expand through farm to table initiatives. We are unique with Successful Farming being a 112 year brand serving the American farmer and Meredith having some of the most coveted consumer media brands reaching 100 million people each month.

Previously, Mortimer served as Publisher/General Manager at Meredith Agrimedia. Mortimer joined Meredith in 1992 as a Sales Executive for Successful Farming magazine. He was named National Sales Manager in 2001 and promoted to Publisher in 2006.

Before joining Meredith, Mortimer served as a Branch Manager for Norwest Financial, Inc.

A native of Dallas Center, Iowa, Mortimer is a 1987 graduate of Iowa State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural business. He resides with his family in Cumming, Iowa.
