The April/May issue of Feed International magazine features the release of its exclusive World Feed Panorama survey, which charts the production of compound feeds for food animals and aquaculture by industrial mills around the world.

For two decades, WATT Global Media has conducted this annual survey, which focuses on feed production rather than capacity. World Feed Panorama is specific to compounds and does not include premixes, concentrates, additives and straight ingredients which contribute to a calculation of total feed.

"The basis of the survey has changed with the feed industry's evolving structure, but our unrivaled database compiled from decades of surveys remains a unique resource for monitoring global trends," says Bruce Plantz, WATT Global Media director of content.

The indication from the newly released World Feed Panorama survey is that approximately 825 million metric tons of compound feeds were manufactured industrially for food animals and aquaculture in 2013. With six out of the top 15 countries registering a drop in their annual production volume -- and most of the others showing only a small expansion -- the total tonnage at world level struggled to achieve significant growth. Global production saw a marginal 1 percent increase over 2012.

The complete World Feed Panorama survey - including detailed charts and figures - can be accessed in the April/May digital edition of Feed International at and in the Feed Market Data section of at
