Farm Equipment magazine reports:

The results of this most recent report are based on the responses of 122 North American farm equipment dealers representing combined annual revenues of roughly $5.1 billion.

Highlights from the June Dealer Sentiments report include:

Ag equipment dealers reported sales were down 2% year-over-year on average in May.

Shortline dealers reported the best results with 3% growth for the month. New Holland dealers reported the worst results with average sales down 10%.

A net 10% of dealers reported better than expected results for May, compared to 4% who reported worse than expected results in April.

A net 26% of dealers categorize their new equipment inventory as "too high" (38% too high; 50% about right; 12% too low), vs. 15% last month.

Incoming orders declined 4% on average in May. Orders have been running down low-single-digits since November.

Ag Equipment Intelligence and the Cleveland Research Co. conduct this monthly survey of North American dealers to provide a "snapshot" of their current sentiments and to keep industry professionals up to date on significant trends in the farm machinery industry. This survey was conducted during the last two weeks of June and reflects dealer sentiment at that time.
