American Ethanol will be participating in The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI), an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state, from July 20-26, 2014.

RAGBRAI is the oldest, largest and longest recreational bicycle-touring event in the world, and this year's route passes directly through the heart of Iowa's ethanol producing regions.

Nearly 200 riders from across the country have joined the American Ethanol team and will be wearing green American Ethanol jerseys throughout the ride. Ethanol plants along the RAGBRAI route will be joining in to support the effort as well.

The Biofuels Mobile Education Center will be visiting three RAGBRAI host communities-Emmetsburg, Charles City and Mason City, Iowa. The No. 3 American Ethanol Chevrolet SS will also be making appearances in Emmetsburg, Sheldon and Mason City, Iowa.

"American Ethanol is pleased to participate in RAGBRAI and help promote a homegrown American fuel that is better for our environment, reduces our dependence on foreign oil and creates jobs right here in the U.S., all while providing consumers with a choice and savings at the pump," said Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy.

The American Ethanol RAGBRAI effort is being sponsored by Growth Energy, POET, Green Plains Inc., Monsanto and New Holland.
