The Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics at the University of Illinois has developed a new website to deliver research-based information on a wide variety of policies that are currently being analyzed and discussed in government and private sectors.

The site can be found at and includes instructions for how to subscribe to receive postings via email or in an RSS feed.

The success of farmdoc daily inspired the Department of ACE to develop a parallel site to share research-based economic policy that would help inform policy and policy makers on a broad range of topics.

The new Policy Matters website shares the farmdoc daily look, feel, and function.

The Department of ACE has a rich history in analyzing the economic effects of domestic and international policies on consumers, producers, agribusinesses, and the environment, and this new site will allow the analysis to be published in a timely and easy-to-read format.

Although the site originated in ACE, it will include posts from faculty across the University of Illinois.

The new Policy Matters site already has three interesting articles posted:

The Potentially Negative Consequences Associated with the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act

Managing Environmental Uncertainty Created by Global Warming

A Brief History of Farm Conservation Policy

I hope you will visit this new and interesting site. You will be glad you did!
