AMERICAN BANKERS ASSN ANNOUNCES ITS ANNUAL AG LENDER CONFERENCE
Source: American Bankers Association news release

Ag bankers from across the country will convene in Indianapolis for the American Bankers Association's 2016 National Agricultural Bankers Conference, Nov. 13-16. The event, held at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, will provide Ag bankers with the tactical insight needed to successfully cross the bridge to ag's next cycle.

This year's conference, entitled "Ag Banking at the Crossroads: Strategies for the Road Ahead," will feature more than 40 hours of high-quality content on topics such as managing risk, exploring new credit and restructuring options, working smarter and making tough business decisions as the industry evolves.

"Ag bankers are weathering a very volatile time in our economy," said Steve Apodaca, senior vice president of ABA's Center for Agricultural and Rural Banking. "This conference provides a great opportunity for bankers to address the critical issues affecting their industry, exchange ideas with their peers and cultivate new strategies for the years ahead."

During the conference, bankers will have the opportunity to engage in several general sessions, including one with Nathan Kauffman, assistant vice president and Omaha branch executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Kauffman will address the significant changes in the U.S. agricultural economy and its implications for the future of the Ag industry. Attendees will also hear from David M. Kohl, Ph.D., professor emeritus, agricultural and applied economics at Virginia Tech. Kohl will discuss the global and domestic macro-economic factors set to determine the future landscape of the Ag business.

General sessions include:
•Is this Farm Downturn Different?
•Reflection on the Election: What does it mean for Agriculture?
•Food Industry Trends: Responding to Changing Consumer Attitudes;
•Communicating Ag to the Public;
•Tough Times Call for Tough Decisions;
•Agriculture & Banking at the Economics Crossroads; and
•The Culture Gearbox: How to Shift from Good to Great to Extraordinary.

This year's conference reintroduces "The New Ag Banker Track" offered last year to Ag professionals with a tenure of between one and seven years of lending experience.

During these targeted sessions, young bankers will have the opportunity to refresh their knowledge of Ag industry basics, share best practices and gather the latest information on risk management and customer engagement.

The conference will also include a keynote address from international racing champion, best-selling author and TV's face of motor sports, Derek Daly, who will detail how one can think and act differently to achieve extraordinary results in their line of work.

Registration for the conference is $975 for ABA members and $1,465 for non-members. Special discounts are available for early bird registration before Aug. 28 and attendees from the same member organization who register together.

For additional schedule information or to register for the conference, call 1-800-BANKERS or visit www.aba.com/AgConference.
