SURVEY OF WOMEN IN AGRIBUSINESS RESULT RELEASED
Source: Women In Agribusiness news release

In a recent survey conducted by Women in Agribusiness, respondents overwhelmingly agreed that retention and advancement programs for women were meaningful and effective, and that they respected women who participated in them.

However, this same group of participants, in the same large numbers, shared that they feared participating in these programs at their companies because of the threat of a negative impact to their reputation.

What does it say when women are uneasy about getting the help they need to succeed? It says that the company culture needs to change. A good place to start is having senior management model the below behaviors:

Celebrate when women are accepted into advancement programs, confirming that the company sees value in their future and is investing in them.

Applaud and reward women who support female colleagues, as opposed to stereotyping them as feminists.

Encourage women to seek out professional development and business education without fear of negative repercussions. Who doesn't want a team member to be better at her job?

This is why the Women in Agribusiness conference exists: To remove the barriers women have to being better at their jobs, and to offer support and strategies for advancement.

Three days of industry content, presented by top experts
10 hours of networking with trailblazers and up-and-comers
600 women with whom to share best practices and strategies
