CATTLE GENETICS FIRMS ALTA AND GENEX CONSIDERING MERGER

Red River Farm Radio Network reports:
The boards of directors of two agriculture businesses have agreed to a plan to merge into one entity. The deal between Koepon Holding and Cooperative Resources International is subject to due diligence and the regulatory process.
Koepon Holdings operates Alta Genetics, which serves the beef and dairy industries. Koepen also operates a dairy management software business and a calf nutrition business.
CRI is a farmer-owned cooperative that operates the GENEX cattle genetics business. GENEX operates four auction markets, including West Fargo and Albany. If successful, this merger will take place in mid-2018.
