The J.R. Simplot Company has named Luke Burton Manager of Western Canada. Burton and his team will be tasked with ensuring Simplot is positioned to best serve customers in the area through Simplot's fertilizer and crop nutrient services.

"We've seen a growing demand for our products and services in western Canada," Said Doug Stone, Simplot's Vice President of Wholesale Sales. "Luke has the knowledge and passion to ensure we provide our customers an opportunity to maximize their profits while helping Simplot grow our presence in the area."

Burton joined Simplot in 2013 as the Western Canada Wholesale Manager. Prior to that he worked for an agronomic marketing company that helped develop specialty fertilizer products in western Canada. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan and grew up on a mixed grain and oil seed farm.

"I'm excited to continue working with the partners we've made over the years and to build new partnerships going forward," Burton said. "I'm very familiar with the demands of the western Canadian marketplace and look forward to doing everything we can to help our customers prosper."

Simplot has a strong wholesale presence in Canada and recently acquired a pair of crop-input distribution facilities in Alberta that provide comprehensive agriculture services and technologies to ensure farmers get maximum return from their land and their investments. The Company has a long history in Canada and currently operates a potato processing plant in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and a fertilizer distribution facility in Chin, Alberta.
