![]() Jul. 3, 2018 Farm Foundation reports: David Hill of Southern Hill Farms, Apopka, FL, was elected chair of the Round Table Steering Committee at its meeting in Bettendorf, IA, June 7. He succeeds Kip Tom of Tom Farms. Dawn Riley was elected to succeed Hill as Vice Chair of the Steering Committee. Tom and Thayne Larson, who are stepping down Elected to the Steering Committee were Andy LaVigne and Mike Seyfert. Completing the 12-member committee are Jonathan Bryant, Shane Burgess, John Cottingham, Cheri DeJong, John Foltz, Don Halcomb, Lisa Moon and Kelly Shea. The Round Table is governed by the Steering Committee that sets policies and works with the Farm Foundation staff to plan the bi-annual meetings. Steering Committee members serve staggered three-year terms. At the Bettendorf meeting, the Steering Committee approved the nominations of four individuals for Honorary Life Member (HLM) status, as well as recommendations for membership for three individuals. Receiving HLM status are Dan Dooley, (the only one of the four present at the meeting), Tom Dorr, Charlie Stamp and Bill Whitacre. In addition, HLM status was approved for former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. The Round Table Bylaws designate HLM status to any former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. New members are Karen Carr, Partner at Arent Fox; Michael Parrish of Monsanto, and Christine Hamilton of Christiansen Land and Cattle, Ltd., who was not able to attend the meeting. Tweet |
