U.S.-CHINA TRADE TALKS NEXT WEEK WILL INCLUDE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
POLITICO reports:

U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer's trip to Shanghai on Monday through Wednesday is inciting hope that China start purchasing more American farm goods as a goodwill gesture, reports POLITICO's Adam Behsudi. Trump at the G-20 last month said Chinese President Xi Jinping promised to buy more U.S. agricultural products - something Trump has long viewed as a vital part of resolving the trade war - but the commitment has yet to fully materialize.

Administration officials, including Perdue, have repeatedly criticized Beijing for not upholding its promise to buy 20 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans. As of this week, China has bought more than 13 million metric tons, according to USDA.
