FARM MARKET ID ADDS 44 MILLION ACRES OF IRRIGATION DATA TO ITS DATABASE

Westmont, IL - Farm Market iD announces the launch of new field-level irrigation data which provides deeper insights for agribusinesses to better understand and serve their farmers.
The new data identifies farm fields that are irrigated and classifies them based on type of irrigation. The irrigation falls within four categories: pivot irrigation, non-pivot sprinkler, other irrigation (flood, micro, etc.) and non-irrigated. The dataset includes about 44 million irrigated acres and covers about 80% of all irrigation in the 48 continental United States.

Irrigation Data Coverage
The coverage includes more than 89 percent of irrigated acres in top crop-producing agriculture states (compared to the USDA).
Farm Market iD builds this data through a rigorous data science process using satellite imagery and remote sensing, temporal vegetative and weather data, spectral and image processing and a trained classification model to identify field-level irrigation.
Since the irrigation data is geospatially linked to growers, it is available within Farm Market iD's FarmFocus and FieldVision applications as a data license or as part of our targeted digital ad service.
