U.S. TRACTOR SALES UP 15% IN MAY, COMBINE SALES DECLINE SLIGHTLY

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in 2020, were up 15% in May compared to 2019.

For the year, a total of 107,134 tractors were sold which compares to 103,007 sold in 2019.

For the month of May, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 19% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were up 11%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 17%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were down 12%.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 6% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were even. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are up 4%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 8%.

Combine sales were down 3% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 1,576 compared to 1,741 in 2019, an 10% decrease.
