IOWA GOVERNOR PROCLAIMS MARCH 25 IS WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE DAY IN THE STATE
source: Stine Seed news release

Adel, IA - Stine Seed Company is pleased to announce March 25, 2021, as Women in Agriculture Day in Iowa. For a second year, Stine, in collaboration with the Iowa FFA Foundation, the Iowa 4-H Program and FarmHer, has worked with Governor Kim Reynolds' office to secure a proclamation to mark the statewide celebration.

"Iowa is proud to recognize the nearly 50,000 women who serve in leadership, support and influential, decision-making roles across Iowa's 86,000 farms," the proclamation notes. In addition to female leaders on the farm, the proclamation acknowledges the women who are making a difference in the state's various commodity and industry fields.

"Women from all walks of agriculture, including research, seed sales, farming, trade, agribusiness, education and more, play a vital role in helping the industry prosper and advancing it for future generations," says Jessica Drake, marketing coordinator for Stine. "We're proud to work with many inspiring and influential women at Stine and across the industry, and we're excited to recognize all women in ag for their accomplishments. Our partnership with FarmHer, the Iowa FFA Foundation and the Iowa 4-H Program enables Stine to elevate, empower and educate women in agriculture throughout the industry. We thank the governor for her support in establishing a Women in Agriculture Day in Iowa."

While Stine always seeks ways to honor its employees, partners and other ag industry professionals, the company is proud to pay homage to women agricultural workers at the crossroads of Women's History Month and National Agriculture Week (March 21-27).

"While we celebrate the accomplishments of women who are paving the way for the agriculture industry year-round, we're pleased to have an official day in Iowa marking their efforts in agriculture and their leadership and expertise in the workplace," notes Myron Stine, Stine president.

Iowans can join the Women in Agriculture Day in Iowa celebration by sharing their ag stories on social media using the hashtag #TogetHER4Ag on March 25. Individuals interested in learning more about the day or how Stine is celebrating women in agriculture throughout March are welcome to follow our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube pages.
