CROPLIFE MAGAZINE UNVEILS 2021 RANKING OF TOP 100 U.S. AG RETAILERS Dec. 10, 2021 CropLife magazine reports: Companies included in the 2021 ranking were limited to independent dealerships and cooperatives offering four main product categories: fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, and custom application services. Figures do not include a host of services, such as data management, consulting/scouting, or grain elevator revenue. Now in its 38th year, the CropLife 100 helps provide some insights into how those retailers with annual sales ranging from "several million dollars to multiple billion dollars" have done over the past growing season. Overall, CropLife 100 dealerships and cooperatives recorded just over $35 billion in revenue during the year, up more than $3 billion from the 2020 total - making 2021 one of the best years, sales-wise, the ag retail industry has ever seen, says CropLife Editor Eric Sfiligoj. "Overall, revenue for the nation's top ag retailers grew 11.7%, topping an all-time record of $35.4 billion," he says. "This represented a marked improvement over the 2020 results, when the aftereffects of COVID-19 and wet/dry weather combined to depress CropLife 100 ag retailer sales 1.9%." Nutrien Ag Solutions again maintains its position as the country's leading retailer with more than $1 billion in sales, 45 states served, and 1,000-plus retail outlets. This marks the 38th year Nutrien has appeared in the CropLife 100. The top seven companies - which all surpassed $1 billion in retail sales this past year - remained the same from last year. But the top 10 companies did see some movement from a year ago, most notably with Co-Alliance replacing Southern State Cooperative on the list. Here's how the rest of the top 10 ag retailers shook out: 1. Nutrien Ag Solutions 2. Helena Agri-Enterprises 3. Simplot Grower Solutions 4. GROWMARK 5. Wilbur-Ellis 6. CHS 7. GreenPoint AG 8.
