USDA'S RISK MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR REPORTS LIVESTOCK PRODUCERS ARE UTILIZING INSURANCE

The administrator of USDA's Risk Management Agency says more producers than ever are utilizing insurance options, especially for livestock.
Marcia Bunger tells Brownfield...
"We have grown by almost 10,000%," she says.
Bunger believes the growth stems from recent improvements to the Livestock Risk Protection and Gross Margin programs.
"It really speaks to the answer of call from USDA to livestock producers to provide additional new improved livestock products," she says.
Bunger says a series of nationwide listening sessions continue to be vital to educating and better serving producers.
"I think it's very important for RMA to continue to provide educational opportunities like the livestock roadshow," she says, "because we still continue to hear feedback that there are producers that weren't aware of the different livestock products that we do offer."
Administrator Bunger was in western Illinois Tuesday for a roadshow event.
