Rick Haun, former advertising manager for John Deere, passed away on March 4, 2025.
Rick served in the U.S. Navy after which he worked in the upper Northeast as a newspaper reporter and later an advertising writer. This led him to a storied career at John Deere in which he managed advertising for the company's farm equipment and compact tractor business segments. During his time at Deere, he challenged his agencies and media reps to deliver their best, never settling for anything less.
He hired and developed several young advertising writers who are now in leadership roles in the company, instilling in them a deep passion for the art of advertising, developing creative that always hits the mark, and building strong connections with customers, colleagues and industry partners to stand the test of time.
