Source: Brownfield Ag News release

Kellan Heavican
Jefferson City, Mo. - Brownfield Ag News is excited to announce that Kellan Heavican will be rejoining the team as the Anchor/Reporter for Nebraska and Kansas. His first day back is March 31, 2025.

"Kellan is exceptionally well-suited to cover agriculture in Nebraska, his home state, where he has strong, long-standing relationships and a deep understanding of the local farmers and ranchers," says Cyndi Young, Director of Brownfield & Learfield Ag. "He will hit the ground running!"

Kellan grew up on a row crop and cow/calf operation in Eastern Nebraska. He was active as a 4-H and FFA member where he showed cattle at the local, state and national levels. He is a 2018 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he received his Journalism degree. He has held different radio positions and most recently served as the public relations director at a local university.

"Kellan Heavican is an award-winning journalist with deep roots in agriculture," says Meghan Grebner, Brownfield Broadcast Supervisor. "We are delighted to welcome him back to Brownfield. His passion for exceptional journalism, combined with his extensive agricultural knowledge, makes him an ideal addition to our team of farm broadcasters."

Kellan is a prior recipient of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting's coveted Doan Award. He has also been honored by the Nebraska Broadcasters Association and the Iowa Broadcast News Association for news writing, play-by-play announcing, breaking news coverage, and feature writing. He remains active in the cattle industry and helps his family raise cattle on his family's ranch. In his spare time, Kellan referees high school basketball and is a local sports announcer.

"I couldn't be more excited to rejoin the award-winning team at Brownfield Ag News where I can be part of the conversation that keeps farmers and ranchers informed with stories that truly matter," says Kellan Heavican.

Brownfield Ag News creates and delivers original content across multiple media platforms. Brownfield includes the largest and one of the oldest agricultural news radio networks in the country. Nearly 600 affiliate radio stations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Kansas and the Delta region carry agricultural programming created by Brownfield's award-winning team of a dozen full-time farm broadcasters.
