FARM JOURNAL SETS ITS SIGHTS ON STREAMING, DEPARTS FROM RFD-TV
Source: Farm Journal news release

Following a successful Farm Journal TV subscription service launch in March, Farm Journal will expand its streaming presence with a free ad-supported television (FAST) streaming channel in May 2025.

The company accelerated its planned FAST channel launch to the second quarter after seeing the attention numbers of Farm Journal TV's subscription video on demand (SVOD) service. The success of Farm Journal TV showed tremendous demand for the company's award-winning content from an even broader audience.

To advance its next-generation video and audience development approach, Farm Journal will no longer distribute content through RFD-TV, effective April 27, 2025.

Machinery Pete TV, AgDay and U.S. Farm Report will continue to be available over the air on Farm Journal's network of 250 local affiliates, reaching an audience of more than 350,000 producers. They will also be available on the new FAST streaming channel, and available on demand at any time on Farm Journal TV. Accordingly, "AgriTalk" will no longer be available on RFD's Rural Radio Network, focusing on its 100 local radio partners and 200,000 mobile app listeners, as well as Farm Journal's new streaming offerings.

"RFD-TV has been a tremendous partner to Farm Journal for nearly 20 years," said Prescott Shibles, CEO of Farm Journal. "The long-term collaboration between our companies has provided a valuable service in keeping agriculture and rural America informed and entertained."

The FAST channel will feature, along with its nationally syndicated ag newscasts, all Farm Journal programming including over a dozen ag-focused podcasts. Additional content partners will be announced throughout the year.

Farm Journal's FAST channel will begin on AgWeb.com and MachineryPete.com and will add more platform partners throughout the year, Shibles said.

"We go where our audience is, which is why we are the most watched, read and listened to voice in U.S. agriculture," Shibles said. "This is part of Farm Journal's larger strategic vision to serve agriculture in the modern era and reach today's producers at the time and place that is most convenient for them."
