ONE GROWER PUBLISHING ACQUIRED BY MID AMERICA FARM PUBLICATIONS
Source: Mid America Farm Publications news release

PERRYVILLE, MO - Mid America Farm Publications, Inc. today announced the acquisition of One Grower Publishing. The transaction came about after a short negotiation period between John LaRose, Jr., President of Mid America Farm Publications, Inc. and Lia Guthrie, Publisher/Vice President of One Grower. Terms were not disclosed.

Changing hands in the deal are five titles: Cotton Farming, Rice Farming, The Peanut Grower, Soybean South and Corn South. Included are all print & digital properties.

Mid America Farm Publications, Inc. was founded in 1982 by the late John LaRose, Sr. & then wife Sharolyn LaRose. It consists of the multi-platform Mid America Farmer Grower and the annual National Conservation Systems Cotton & Rice Conference. LaRose, Jr. purchased Mid America Farm Publications, Inc. from his father in 2019. The company is based in Perryville, Missouri.

One Grower was established in 2005 when publisher Lia Guthrie and her business partner Mike Lamensdorf purchased the publications from Vance Publishing. The sale of One Grower will end the four decades long media career of Guthrie, who began as a field reporter for Meister Publishing in 1985. Over its lifetime, One Grower's company offices have been based in Memphis & Collierville, Tennessee.

"On behalf of the MAFG family, I would like to extend my congratulations to Lia and Mike for their tremendous contribution to the agricultural community through their work with One Grower. It is our hope than we can carry on the legacy of their labor for many years to come," LaRose, Jr. said.

Guthrie added "All these years One Grower wasn't about what we did, but who we are. I'm really thrilled John approached us because he has such a passion for agriculture and we share that trait with him."

LaRose, Jr. says he hopes to continue the One Grower legacy beginning this fall.
