AVANT MARKETING GROUP POLL FINDS 70% OF GROWERS DID NOT CHANGE FERTILIZER RATES, 30% DID
Source: Avant Marketing Group

St. Louis -- Avant Marketing Group recently polled its agriculture grower panel concerning this year's fertilizer application and expectations of 2026 farm profitability.

While facing higher fertilizer prices, over two-third (70.42%) of growers state that they did not change their fertilizer application practices compared to 2025. Yet pricing did have an effect on nearly one-third (27.65%) of growers who applied less fertilizer this year while another 1.93% actually increased their fertilizer application.

In terms of farm profitability, growers are mixed in their expectations. While 43.79% of survey respondents expect their 2025 profitability to be maintained in 2026, over 40 percent (40.52%) expect profitability to decline and 15 percent (15.69%) expect higher profitability than in 2025.

The survey poll was conducted with Avant Marketing Group's in-house grower panel which includes over 1,100 growers across North America.
