Oct. 2, 2026 Source: World Food Prize Des Moines, IA -- In 20 days, one room in Des Moines will hold the voices of farmers, scientists, humanitarians, global leaders and policy makers -- all gathered around the same urgent question: what will it take to build a world where hunger loses? Among them will be: •Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai •Actor and Humanitarian Martin Sheen •Prime Minister of Tanzania H.E. Dr. Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba •H.S.H. Princess Tatjana of Liechtenstein •FAO Director-General QU Dongyu •President of The Rockefeller Foundation Dr. Rajiv Shah •Actor and Author Nick Offerman •World Food Prize Laureates and influential voices from around the world. What makes this gathering extraordinary is not simply who is coming. It is what becomes possible when they come together. Because hunger does not belong to one sector. Neither does the answer. For 40 years, the World Food Prize has created a place where people with different perspectives and experiences confront the same challenge together. This October, that tradition continues with three days of conversations focused on the questions that cannot wait. What happens when food becomes a weapon? How do we protect the water and land on which our food system depends? What will it take to feed a changing world? Where will the next breakthrough come from--and who will make it possible? Under the theme "Before Hunger Wins", the 2026 Borlaug Dialogue will put those questions where they belong: in front of the people with the experience, influence, ideas and determination to do something about them. Forty years of the World Food Prize have led to this moment. And now, it is only 20 days away. The speakers are coming. The agenda is set. The conversations are waiting. All that is missing is you.
