BRANDT ACQUIRES ALTIARA, LEADING MEXICAN MANUFACTURER OF SPECIALTY AG PRODUCTS

Source: BRANDT sent via AgPR--the news distribution service for agriculture

BRANDT has acquired Altiara, a Mexico City- and Pachuca-based manufacturer of specialty crop nutrition, plant protection and adjuvant products. The business will operate as "Altiara, A BRANDT Company" under BRANDT International.

Altiara will significantly strengthen BRANDT's presence in Latin America, adding manufacturing capabilities, expanding its customer base and increasing access in the growing organic and biological products markets.

"We continue to grow globally and expand our market reach," said Rick Brandt, President & CEO of BRANDT. "With Altiara in the family, we'll be able to manufacture our products in Mexico for shipment throughout Latin America, delivering significant efficiencies in Central America and the Caribbean. We're thrilled to welcome Altiara into BRANDT... This is just another way to better serve our customers."

Founded in 2000, Altiara manufactures and distributes a wide range of chemistries for crop nutrition, protection and biostimulation. The company boasts an extensive portfolio for organic, biorational, and conventional agriculture solutions, combining the highest quality manufacturing with cutting-edge technology to meet the demands of a continually evolving market. Altiara products are distributed primarily in Mexico and Central America.

"We are thrilled to be joining the BRANDT family," said Francisco Ortiz, former CEO of Altiara. "Our goal was to find a partner who shared our values, boasts a laser-sharp focus on customers and has the capacity to invest for growth. That's BRANDT. Our whole team is energized and excited." Going forward, Ortiz will continue with the company as Managing Director Mexico Integration.

Altiara's business will operate under the BRANDT International business unit, led by Mauricio Andrião, VP, BRANDT International. All Altiara employees will be retained, with company leadership reporting to the functional business leads at BRANDT. The company will be rebranded as "Altiara, A BRANDT Company."

"Last year, we identified Mexico as one of our primary growth countries for its deep agriculture segment, fit with our high-technology products and overall potential," explained Andrião. "So when the opportunity came up to acquire Altiara, we were immediately interested. When we learned about the quality of their team, the quality of their products and their values-based approach to business, the fit was immediately obvious."

The new Altiara will be re-launched at the Expo AgroAlimentaria Guanajuato tradeshow over Nov. 10-13. Altiara will be present in booths 642 and 644. For more information, see Altiara on the web at www.altiara.mx.
