JUSTICE DEPT AND USDA REAFFIRM AND EXPAND THEIR PARTNERSHIP TO PROTECT COMPETITION IN AG INPUTS
Source: U.S. Department of Justice news release

WASHINGTON -- Attorney General Todd Blanche and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins have agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), building on the joint progress of the Department of Justice and Department of Agriculture to strengthen competition for agricultural inputs. Under the MOU, the agencies will expand their strong cooperation with respect to food and agricultural inputs, such as feed, fertilizer, fuel, seed, equipment, pesticides, among other essential goods.

The Justice Department is committed to vigorously investigating and bringing appropriate action to stop anticompetitive conduct that harms American famers and families. The new MOU deepens the Justice Department's close partnership with the USDA to protect American farmers from unlawful conduct and to promote a more affordable and resilient food supply chain.

The new MOU, signed by Attorney General Blanche and Secretary Rollins on Oct. 5, reflects the high priority of agricultural input competition to both agencies. The MOU amends and restates a prior working-level MOU entered into by the Justice Department's Antitrust Division in September 2025.

Anyone with information about anticompetitive conduct in agricultural industries or any other violations of the antitrust laws is encouraged to contact the Antitrust Division's Citizen Complaint Center at 1-888-647-3258 or antitrust.complaints@usdoj.gov. Information about anticompetitive practices in livestock and poultry markets can also be submitted to the USDA's and Justice Department's Agricultural Markets Enforcement Partnership at www.farmerfairness.gov.
